The Institute for Urban Research at Morgan Sate University upholds the following mission and mandate:

Established in 1978, the IUR is guided by a mandate to look at urban issues throughout the state of Maryland.

The IUR houses the Center for Survey Research (CSR), the Community Development Resource Center (CDRC), and The Warrior Institute (TWI).

The IUR is committed to generating understanding and intervention through research, advocacy and empowerment.
