CDRC At A Glance

The Community Development Resource Center (CDRC) was established in May 1991 as an out-reach arm of the Institute for Urban Research, Morgan State University, in addressing community development needs from the Baltimore City and beyond. Over the years, CDRC has grown to be a prime community development technical assistance provider in Baltimore.

Goal Statement

The overall goal of the Community Development Resource Center is to provide a broad range of technical assistance, research support and information dissemination.

Mission Statement

The CDRC's overall goal is to provide technical assistance, information dissemination, and research support to community- based organizations and their public and private partners.

Objectives

  1. Provide information for public agencies and community-based organizations to maximize community development and redevelopment efforts.

  2. Provide training and education to faculty, staff, students and community-based organizations to access information, use and analyze data and effectively present information to maximize community development and redevelopment efforts.

  3. Assist in coordinating urban related initiatives/programs between identified units on Morgan's campus and the Baltimore Community. This effort will help to expand Morgan's role as the State's "primary urban university".

The CDRC accomplishes these objectives through three programs, i.e., the Morgan's Urban Capacity Building Program (UCBP), the Neighborhood Information Program (NIP) and the Technical Assistance Program (TAP).
