Dr. Winbush
Raymond Winbush, Ph.D

A clinical psychologist and director of The Warrior Institute (TWI), is engaged in research concerning adolescent development, education, health and Black men and boys. He is the author of the critically acclaimed books The Warrior Method: A Parents’ Guide to Rearing Healthy Black Boys and Should America Pay?: Slavery and the Raging Debate on Reparations. In 2007, Winbush traveled to Australia to participate in a 5-day National Conference on Racism held at Murdoch University and delivered a lecture series at Australian National University.

Winbush conducts workshops based upon The Warrior Method locally, nationally and internationally. The Warrior Method has been incorporated in school systems in Baltimore, MD; Worchester, MA; Dallas, TX; Brixton, United Kingdom; and Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Ashraf Ahmed, Ph.D

A statistician-demographer and graduate of the University, has extensive experience in teaching and research. He is director of the Center for Survey Research. He has published in the fields of population, health, welfare, environment, substance abuse and transportation. He has taught biostatistics, advanced research methods and business statistics. Before joining the IUR, he was a professor of statistics at University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, where he taught statistics and demography at graduate and undergraduate levels.

Clement Anyadike, M.C.R.P

A specialist in urban planning and public health. He is project director for the Community Development Resource Center (CDRC) and a doctoral candidate in the MSU School of Community Health and Policy. He maintains a comprehensive database of community census profiles, as well as plans and implements educational workshops and forums to assist communities in their development and re-development efforts.

Mr. Anyadike assisted the Maryland Office of the Public Defender in developing demographic profiles to assess quality of life in Baltimore neighborhoods. The Office of the Public Defender used the reports to show an association between neighborhood quality of life and aggressive behavior by inner-city youths.

The assistance of research assistants, Mr. Yaw Berkoh and Mr. Patrick Inkoom, enables the CDRC to provide technical assistance and research support to communities in Baltimore.

Dr Loubert
Linda Loubert, Ph.D

A political economist, is a 2000 graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas. Her research interest include: education finance, housing and geographic information system (GIS) applications to urban issues. Using maps produced through GIS, Dr. Loubert assists neighborhood communities, legal teams and policy makers in understanding social and economics conditions of Baltimore neighborhoods.

Dr. Loubert serves as a board member of the National Economic Association, The Carroll Park Foundation and the Citizen’s Advisory Committee of the Baltimore Regional Transportation Board. Her research and publications include issues on the interconnectedness of housing markets, school finance reform, and low-income populations.

Glen Robinson, M.A., M.M

Is an expert in transportation planning. His core expertise includes: developing tools and information to support improved transit, highway and land-use planning and decision-making in such areas as congestion management, air quality and freight.

Mr. Robinson developed and managed the Maryland Transit Administration’s Transit Hub Study that included a focus on both planning and operational research (components included database development, spatial analysis, transit network assignment and priority selection process).  He is Project Director of the Baltimore Regional Environmental Justice in Transportation Project (BREJTP). Through this research project, Mr. Robinson has generated a toolkit with policy recommendations for public health, transportation, and urban planning. (www.brejtp.com)

Tracy R. Rone, Ph.D

A linguistics and cultural anthropologist, is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles. Her work aims to illuminate issues of narrative and oral history, urban education, child and adolescent health, socialization and indigenous community resources. She has contributed to understanding issues that include education, juvenile justice, obesity and lead exposure in Baltimore.

Her publications address issues in narrative, African American academic achievement and strategies for creating civic and intellectual engagement in undergraduate classrooms.
