A statistician-demographer and graduate of the University, has extensive experience in teaching and research. He is director of the Center for Survey Research. He has published in the fields of population, health, welfare, environment, substance abuse and transportation.

He has taught biostatistics, advanced research methods and business statistics. Before joining the IUR, he was a professor of statistics at University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, where he taught statistics and demography at graduate and undergraduate levels.
